KARETA – PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Kareta is a universal adapter for signal connection between trailer and the vehicle. It is suitable for all cars. Newer generation vehicles normally need an electronic adapter to connect trailer lighting with car wiring. Factories make their own adapters for every vehicle, but they're suitable only for that specific car, whereas Kareta is a universal adapter that works on nearly all vehicles!
All versions of Kareta use newest generation power transistors used in the automotive industry to turn on trailer lighting. Each channel has electronic, current and thermal protection. After a hypothetical error on the trailer is corrected, Kareta automatically sets itself to normal state. It's also protected against malfunctioning due to wrongly connected power supply (blown external 15A fuse).
When the engine is off, power consumption is negligible. Kareta only activates when the engine starts or when signal plug is inserted into the trailer socket.

Kareta V13.00

Kit contains an electronic module and complete installation kit, 13-pin plug and all additional necessary equipment for connecting Kareta to the car (self-stripping terminals, fuse with holder, screws, nuts etc.).

Kareta V13.02

Same as V13.00 except that the version has the following additional functions: trailer light bulb malfunction control (L and R turn signal and position lights); sound signal; trailer installation short circuit control (L and R turn signal and position lights); sound signal for Kareta overload (thermal overload); PDC (park distance control) shutdown; car fog light shutdown when trailer fog light is turned on (statutory provision in certain European states); sound signal for trailer error activated when L or R turn signal is turned on.

Kareta V13.12

Same as V13.02 except that the kit doesn't contain power cables for permanent power for the trailer (+30 (battery), +15 (lock)).

All versions of Kareta use a uniform housing and the same 22-pin connector. They are separated by signs on the housing itself, where we can find the version label, except with 7.00B, where the difference is only in the packaging. Homologation number for Kareta is e26*2009/19*1049*00.
